Early Artifacts of an Interdisciplinary Love Affair

The cumulative project may also be considered an installation, as three of the five unique prints included hang in succession above the mantle in the apartment where my wife, Mashinka Firunts, and I live. Her studies focus largely on the Russian Avant-Garde of the early 20th century, and we maintain a constant dialogue concerning the differences between Russian and Italian Futurism. Aeromance was born out of a desire to articulate a romance/ relationship as also being a performative facet of art, which, as in the case of these prints, produces artifacts. The artifacts represent the ephemera (or paper trail) of the relationship as much as they represent a sort of motto, which might be likened to a coat-of-arms.
